Holocaust observance on Tuesday
A communitywide observance of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, starts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church, 340 N. Main St., Hudson.
The featured speaker for the program is Yoram Eckstein, a Holocaust survivor. Eckstein is a geology professor at Kent State University and a poet.
Donations will be collected for the Fund for the Righteous, an organization dedicated to aiding Gentiles still living in Europe who saved Jewish lives during the Holocaust.
The observance is sponsored by Temple Beth Shalom of Hudson, First Congregational Church of Hudson, Hudson United Methodist Church, the Laurel Lake community, Christ Episcopal Church and St. Mary Church.
